CARMA-MATRIX Maths Art/Poster Competition

There are three entry categories:

• Maths outreach poster
  • Entry eligibility: Any student or staff-member (continuing, fixed-term, sessional, conjoint or emeritus) in a university or other research institution
  • Intended audience: school students and the general public
• Maths art
  • Format: the art itself can be in any format, e.g. sculpture, textiles, video etc. but submission must be in a format such as jpeg or pdf for display as a single image online. Thus in the case of sculpture or textiles the art would need to be photographed, and for video screenshots taken.
  • Entry eligibility: anyone
  • Intended audience: inclusive of the mathematics research community, art community and broader general public
• Maths art: schools category
  • Format: the art itself can be in any format, e.g. sculpture, textiles, video etc. but submission must be in a format such as jpeg or pdf for display as a single image online. Thus in the case of sculpture or textiles the art would need to be photographed, and for video screenshots taken.
  • Entry eligibility: the artist(s) must be school students (at any level) at the time of submission
  • Intended audience: other school students and the general public

Important dates:

• 14 March: entries open
• 14 November: entries close
• December: online celebration and announcements

General information:

• There will be many small prizes
• Judges: artists and mathematicians
• The judges' decisions are final and no correspondence will be entered into
• Entries will be accepted at the discretion of the organisers
• Multiple entries from an entrant (which may be an individual or a team) are allowed, but there is a maximum of one prize per category for any given entrant
